Transforming the Former Tupperware Factory into a New Urban Landscape in Aalst
The project of Pier Kornel, Aalst, once the site of the Tupperware factory along the Dender Canal, has been transformed into a vibrant mixed-use urban district by Matexi and Revive. The project combines different types of housing, assisted-living units, residential functions and green public spaces within a largely car-free environment in the site.
Retaining the iconic industrial sheds as part of its identity, Pier Kornel demonstrates how brownfield regeneration can merge heritage, sustainability, and livability.
