Research ‘Floating Urbanism: In Search for New Urbanisties’
This research explores how communities in extreme environments have developed innovative ways of living with water. Case studies from the Amazon and Mekong regions, including sites in Peru, Brazil, Cambodia, and Vietnam, were surveyed, redesigned, and analysed for their spatial and typological responses to seasonal water dynamics. The insights aim to inform new strategies for water-based and floating settlements in the Netherlands and beyond.
